| Machine Cut Rhinestones: Are made of lead crystal, have a very good refractive power, and are one step below of Swarovski rhinestones. There is one difference....most Swarovski rhinestones on the market are of style 2012, have facets around the flat center (table), where as Czech Machine Cut has 8 facets. There are pros and Cons of these cuts. The 8 facets will give more "flash"as the light is broken into fewer planes, but the 12 facet will give more shine. The larger a rhinestone is the more "flash" and the smaller its is, the more glimmer. The Czech Machine Cut is a little less expensive than the Swarovski, but unless you plan on using a lot of rhinestones in your project, the difference is seldom worth the use of these stones. |
